ICSO H&W and Gibson have partnered with Unum, a leader in employee benefits, to offer voluntary worksite benefits. Voluntary benefits are products such as life, disability, critical illness, and accident insurance, offered by employers, and generally paid for by the employee via payroll deductions. These types of benefits allow employers to offer more extensive coverage and can be done without additional costs to the employer.

Why is this coverage so valuable?

  • The money can be used to pay out-of-pocket costs that your medical plan doesn’t coverage, like co-pays and deductibles.
  • Employees are guaranteed coverage without answering medical questions, as long as they enroll during either Open Enrollment Period in 2021.
  • The cost is deducted from employee’s paychecks.
  • Employees can keep their coverage if they change jobs or retire. If they choose, Unum will directly bill employees if no longer actively employed.
  • Benefits can be 100% employee paid. Participating Employers may also choose to cover some/all of the premium.

Accident Insurance

Accident Insurance pays money directly to employees if they and/or covered dependents are accidentally injured off the job, playing sports, or any other accidents, covering more than 50 types of injuries, services and treatments. Employees can use this benefit to help cover expenses that health insurance doesn’t, like co-pays and deductibles. Coverage includes a range of incidents, from common injuries to more serious ones. Payable wellness benefit included. Benefit amounts are determined by the injury type.

Critical Illness

Critical Illness Insurance can pay money directly to employees when diagnosed with certain serious illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, cancer, coma, organ failure, and many more. Severe illnesses often have out-of-pocket expenses that medical insurance doesn’t cover. This coverage pays employees a lump sum if diagnosed with a covered condition. It can help employees worry less about expenses so they can focus on recovery. Employees can choose $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000 in coverage.
